FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DHR Test at Hickory Motor Speedway, Febuary 19th 2026

Dark Horse Racing had an overall successful test session at Hickory Motor Speedway. DHR was able to run 9 laps with the #5 Chevrolet Silverado Super Truck. Tony Edward stated “the truck has speed and power” and “handled great”. While on track, Tony began smelling a burning fluid and radioed to the crew that he was coming into the pits. Upon making entry to pit road, Tony had no clutch. Tony did an excellent job in recognizing the issue and returned safely to pit road despite having no clutch. Crew Chief Craig Adock and Co-Owner/Driver/Mechanic Rusty Edward found the clutch fluid reservoir to be low. The clutch fluid reservoir was topped off, and when Tony pressed on the clutch pedal, there was no resistance. The #5 Super Truck was pushed to the paddock area and placed on jack stands. Craig and Rusty saw fluid leaking from underneath the truck. Rusty crawled underneath and discovered that the throw out bearing bleeder valve had fallen off from the end of the line, causing the clutch fluid reservoir to be emptied immediately after the clutch pedal was depressed. A quick call to Ashley Huffman of Dwight Huffman Racing confirmed the diagnosis, and Dark Horse Racing ordered the $3.00 part.

While the test session was unexpectedly short, Dark Horse Racing gathered important data about Hickory Motor Speedway as well as how the #5 Chevrolet Silverado Super Truck was performing. Tony Edward stated “Thank God this happened during a test session, and not at the first race on March 7th!”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Dark Horse Racing is proud to announce the details of the 2026 NASCAR Super Truck Series! The series will be racing at Hickory Motor Speedway in Newton, NC, and Newport Speedway in Newport, TN, under the same rules package. For DHR, we have a Chevrolet Silverado with a 604 Crate Motor and will be utilizing a 650cfm carburetor. The series will utilize the Hoosier ST3 tires. All teams are to purchase a set of four tires at the first race, and two new tires at each race thereafter. Fuel is to be purchased at the track, and transponders will be available for rent at each race.

There is a total of eight races scheduled, the first of which will be at Hickory Motor Speedway on March 7th, 2026. The last race is scheduled for October 24th, 2026, at Newport Speedway. The payout for each event for the Super Trucks will be $1200 to win. On any given race night, the Super Trucks could run twin races, and any given event could be a double-points night at the series discretion. A sponsorship deal is currently being negotiated for championship payout at the end of the season. All races at Hickory Motor Speedway will be live streamed nationwide on FloRacing. Newport Speedway will be live streaming their races as well on an unknown platform. The next race after March 7th is scheduled for May 5th at Newport Speedway.

Dark Horse Racing is currently making efforts to purchase a second Super Truck, and DHR hopes to be racing at HMS on March 7th with TWO trucks! In addition, DHR will be testing the #5 Chevy Silverado Super Truck at HMS on Thursday, February 19th. Dark Horse Racing is looking forward kicking off the 2026 season, and we hope to see everyone on March 7th at Hickory Motor Speedway!
